Who We Are:
The City of Milpitas offers many programs, activities, and services for the community. Fire Aides are recruited to assist in various City programs to support the Milpitas Fire Department and supplement existing resources.

What We Do:
MFD utilizes volunteers in these areas:
- Public Education: Fire Aides work further fire safety and prevention awareness, to all reaches and ages of the community.
- Suppression, Investigation, & Equipment Training: Fire Aides become trained and better prepared to work on fire scenes and assist paid crews.
- On-Call for Community Distaster: OES is responsible to ensure Milpitas City staff is trained to respond in case of a disaster.
- Community Events Volunteering: for everything from Toys For Tots to Forth of July at the Park crowd control.
- Ride-Along Program: where Fire Aides learn how to act in the fire station setting, take on the "probie" role, and improve their internal customer service skills, working on emergency scenes and in the fire house.
